We report a case of de novo development of cavernous malformation after Gamma Knife Radiosurgery (GKRS) for astrocytoma. The patient was a 20-year-old female who had been operated for cerebellar pilocytic astrocytoma near 4th ventricle. After subtotal tumor removal, she had received Gamma Knife Radiosurgery for the residual tumor. She visited our clinic for headache with nausea about 10 years after GKRS. Follow-up magnetic resonance imaging showed an abnormal mixed signal lesion in right cerebellar hemisphere. Radiologic diagnosis was confirmed with the cavernous malformation. |
